Warmth and Whimsey

Georgia Gerber’s Tufted Puffins

The fireplace takes center stage in the comfort of one of the two primary bedroom suites, beautifully complemented by Georgia Gerber’s Tufted Puffins sculpture. Perched above the hearth, these bronze birds effortlessly blend realism and whimsy, which is a signature of Gerber’s work.

The rich patina of the bronze, achieved through a meticulous casting process, brings out the natural charm of the puffins. We love how they add warmth and a playful spirit, making them a beloved highlight of your stay at your vacation rental.

See Haystack Rock Through a Different Lens

Oysterman by Bill Steidel

As you walk through the home, you’ll be drawn to this imaginative piece by Bill Steidel. In “Oysterman,” Haystack Rock is transformed into a towering castle. A lone figure stands in the reflective waters, gazing at the rock—only to see its true form in the water’s reflection. This artwork invites contemplation and conversation, challenging your perception of an iconic Oregon landmark.

Guests often find themselves pausing to interpret the scene, sharing their unique thoughts about how this imaginative twist on Haystack Rock changes the way they view it. The next time you visit the real Haystack, you may just see it through a new, enchanted lens.

Watercolor Mastery

Cannon Beach Reds by Jeffrey Hull

In the guest suite of our retreat, “Cannon Beach Reds” by Jeffrey Hull offers a more realistic yet equally captivating view of the iconic Haystack Rock. Hull’s watercolor showcases the natural beauty of this landmark as it truly appears, framed by vibrant red wildflowers that add a pop of color against the misty shoreline.

Jeffrey Hull, a longtime resident of Cannon Beach, has spent over 50 years perfecting his ability to convey the intimate connection between land and water. His control of water and pigment breathes emotion into his paintings, making his work a natural fit for our coastal home.

We’ve filled our properties with Hull’s art because his depictions of the Oregon coast resonate deeply with our own love for this region.

We encourage you to visit Hull’s gallery during your stay and experience the full breadth of his work. You might find a piece that speaks to you—perfect for adding a touch of the Oregon coast to your own house!
